MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO.24-A

ALL INTERISLAND SHIPPING COMPANIES, OTHER MARITIME ENTITIES RELATED TO INTER ISLAND SHIPPING

SUBJECT

:

AMENDMENT OF GUIDELINES ON THE IMPORTATION/CHARTER OF INTER ISLAND TANKERS

 

Henceforth, the following guidelines shall govern the importation/charter of interisland tankers, to wit:

 

1.       The age limit of the tankers to be imported/chartered for inter island use shall not be more than fifteen (15) years old:  Provided however, That:

 

(1)      The reckoning date for the determination shall be the date of a vessel launching vis-à-vis the date of application.

 

(2)      The total ban on the importation of tankers beyond 1987 is hereby suspended until the further study and deliberation on its implementation

 

MARINA Memorandum Circular Nos. 24 & 25, insofar as they are not inconsistent with this Circular, shall remain in full force and effect.

 

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
